British youngster Haughton to contest full Nürburgring Langstrecken-serie

Greater Manchester teenager Harley Haughton will contest the full Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in Germany this year.
The endurance race series gets underway this weekend (6-7 Apr) and includes eight races at six events staged on a 16-mile circuit which is a combination of the legendary Nordschleife track plus a section of the current Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit.
Haughton will race a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS for the well-renowned German Sorg Rennsport team. He will share the Porsche with two other drivers in each race and relishes the challenge the incredible Nürburgring offers.
The fearsome 15-mile long Nordschleife was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It features over 170 corners with 1,000ft of elevation changes.
Haughton raced a varied selection of cars last year. In addition to the three 3 NLS races plus 24 hour race at the Nürburgring, Harley had four races in a Ginetta – brilliantly claiming three podiums despite no testing in his one-off event appearance – drove a Porsche Carrera 992 Cup car in the 24 Hours of Barcelona and raced a Lamborghini GT3 car at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
