Haughton claims impressive podium finish at the Nürburgring

Harley’s Porsche finishes a brilliant second in opening N24 qualifying race.

Harley Haughton claimed a stunning podium result in the opening qualifying race for the annual Nürburgring 24 Hour event last weekend (13-14 Apr)

Haughton and co-drivers Mads Gravsen (Denmark) and Edoardo Bugane (Italy) swept their Sorg Rennsport entered Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS to second place in the 25-lap, four-hour race around the fearsome German track.

Harley, who started the race from second in Cup 3 in the race which ran in full darkness for the final 45mins, came home fifth in Sunday’s second race, after a puncture when leading cost Haughton valuable time.

Haughton, who set the fastest Cup 3 race lap in Sundays race, is next in action on “home” soil, competing in the British GT Championship’s Silverstone 500 (28 Apr) for Breakell Racing in a Mercedes-AMG GT4 prior to contesting the Nürburgring 24 Hours (1-2 Jun).

Last weekend’s results earned Harley more valuable points towards his full-season Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie campaign which Haughton kicked off with a fourth the previous weekend (13-14 Apr).
